The modern office is packed with different technology, many of which can connect to different headsets. However, also known as multipoint headsets, multi-device headsets give the user the facility to connect to multiple devices, while still enjoying the clear sound. For those who work at their computers, this comes with a range of benefits. 

USB headsets 

At their most basic, multi-device headsets are those that allow you to plug into a range of different devices, using USB plugs. With added extras, such as noise-cancelling headphones, voice alerts, and customisable mute settings, they give the user complete control over how and where they take calls. Many of these are ideal for use all day, particularly if you’re listening to multimedia music or taking extended conference calls.  

Wireless headsets 

However, wireless, Bluetooth-enabled multipoint headsets take things a step further. The coronavirus pandemic has seen a shift in the way we work. According to government statistics, around 40% of the employed and self-employed workers are now working from home. As a result, the use of online video conferencing services, such as Zoom, has increased. However, while this does allow colleagues and customers to stay in touch and communicate with each other, it does come with its own set of problems. 

Hands-free communication 

As an example, if you’re trying to participate in a Zoom call and a call comes through on your smartphone, you may find it awkward to deal with the two. However, multi-device headsets use Bluetooth, allowing you to connect to both your laptop and phone and switch between calls accordingly. These have the added benefit of being wireless, so the user isn’t tied to one device, or having to sit in one place through the conversation. Easy to use, it’s merely a matter of pairing the required devices to your headset.
